Frequently Asked Questions

Are your cows grass fed & finished?

Yes, our cows graze on a diverse mix of forage during the growing season, and are fed high quality dry hay when pasture growth slows down in the winter months.

Where do you source your cows?

All of our cows are born and raised on the family farm in Siloam, NC. We keep detailed records on every animal including their bloodline, health history, and temperament.

How old are the animals that you harvest?

24-30 months (2 - 2 1/2 years)

How will my beef be packaged?

All your beef will come frozen and in vacuum-sealed packages.

Is your beef dry-aged?

Yes, our beef is dry aged for 14 days. Dry aging is a natural process that tenderizes the meat, concentrates flavors, and removes water. This way, you’re not paying extra for the water weight found in conventional beef.

Do you give your cattle growth hormones or steroids?

No. We don't believe in using growth hormones or steroids. Our cattle are 100% naturally raised.

Do you use antibiotics?

As stewards of our animals and the environment, we do not believe in the routine use of antibiotics. If an animal becomes sick, we do treat them in accordance with our veterinarians instructions. Antibiotics are given only if necessary, and usually just once to the animal that needs it.

Do you use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or chemical fertilizers?

We never use these chemical inputs on our pastures. In fact, our entire rotational grazing practice is designed to improve the land through the cattle, without these inputs!
